What is involved within this course?
The key subjects – health and safety, pesticides and tools, plus more – are studied through a progressive three-day IOG Learning course. Delivered by an industry expert, make a better informed decision in order to determine the effectiveness of your maintenance. This course has been developed by the Institute of Groundsmanship in conjunction with The Racecourse Association Limited. (Food and drink are provided).

Why should I participate in this course?
This Level 3 course quantifies the supervisory and managerial skills required by the groundsman to manage and control the resources on the racecourse. Plus, demonstrate the management techniques and processes required by the groundsman to produce a safe and consistent racing surface. On completion of course you will also receive a Certificate of Attendance. This course is worth 15 CPD points / 15 CPD hours.

What can I do after this course?
To further build on the IOG route, undertake the Level 3 IOG Technical Diploma in Turf Surface Management – or Level 3 IOG Supervisory Management – providing formal qualifications in different aspects of turf management. These qualifications may be beneficial for people who have completed other courses at Level 3 who wish to further develop their understanding of the technical aspects of turf management or leadership and management skills. No practical work is involved with these qualifications.
