The Estates & Commercial Services Directorate is large and diverse, employing circa 300 people, ranging from plumbers, engineers, carpenters, cleaners, porters, leisure centre assistants, to property management professionals, architects, project officers, CAD, space management, sustainability and energy and administrative personnel.
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Groundsperson with previous experience of developing and implementing planned maintenance programs for large and varied outdoor amenity areas. The grounds are critical in providing a good first impression of the University and with the current expansion of the 'green lung' through the campus via various projects and developments it is an exciting time to be part of the Estates Team. We therfore look for both experience and passion in delivering a first class outside enviroment.
The role would suit someone who is self-motivated, has a confident and friendly approach with the ability to work both independantly and as part of a team attending work outside of normal working hours when necessary. An NVQ level 3 in Horticulture, experience in the use of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and Outlook, budget management and a full driving licence are essential along with the knowledge of Health and Safety legislative compliance requirements related to the role.
