Bespoke Training


All courses are available for 'in-house' training and can be structured to specific development programmes.

The following courses are also provided as on-site training programmes.


IOG National Practical Certificate


National Practical Certificate (NPC), an induction level certificate for those setting out on a career in sports turf management. At present being delivered in the 14-16 year curriculum and as a minimum standard to be attained by all racecourse groundsmen in their Foundation course.


National Proficiency Test Council (NPTC)


Courses can be delivered to meet the Certificate of Competence from NPTC. The course can either lead to the assessment for the certificate of competence or a certificate of attendance for the course alone.

The following subjects are offered;

• Pedestrian or Ride-On Equipment, Mowers, Aerators, Scarifiers
• Tractor/ compact tractor operations
• Tractor attachments; Mowers, Aerators, Scarifiers
• Strimmers and brushcutters


Health & Safety

This course is aimed at raising the health and safety awareness of employees and assisting employers to comply with the legislative requirements of providing health and safety training for employees.

The course will be practical in its delivery and there will be a number of practical exercises and case studies, which will be relevant to work of the candidates.


Setting and Marking Out


This course will introduce the basic competencies of setting out, preparation and use of materials for various types of sports pitches.
