The Annual Croquet Championship

The annual croquet championships were held at Edward and Janet Turner’s home near Ormskirk.

Three members from Birkdale and Southport Croquet Club witnessed fair play.
The team was headed by Sandra and Les Leatherbarrow and another member.
Brian Wilson was head cook and the kitchen staff was headed by Brian’s wife Pam and Anne Mendel from Preston.

Overall winners were Martin and Wendy from Speke and Wilf Wilson with partner Anne.
Wilf, the region president, gave a vote of thanks to all concerned Edward Turner, region treasurer, presented Wilf and Anne with their awards and Wilf presented Martin and Wendy with theirs.

Thanks to Birkdale and Southport Croquet Club for allowing us to have the preliminary run-through assisted by Tony.
