2010 Awards & Conference
The 2010 IOG Awards & Conference Event will take place at Glamorgan Cricket Club on the 25th of November at the Swalec Stadium indoor Cricket Academy hosted once again by Mark Saggers of TalkSport Radio
On the afternoon of 24th of November there will be an organised trip to Celtic Manor the host of this years Ryder Cup.
The outline programme for the IOG Conference so far includes:
- Let the Grass Grow! The challenges and obstacles of growing turf in a multi-use stadium
- Back to the Future – Young IOG. We welcome a panel of ‘young guns’ who will discuss pay, rewards, education, PQS and more!
- Sports Grounds or Volcanoes! The climate & changes to the future of sporting surfaces
- ‘The Big Apple’ session – a report on a six day trip from New York’s Parks
- Greenkeeping and Groundsmanship – A panel will debate the crossover and skill demands of each sector
- Out of the Ashes! From Cardiff to Denver – a unique insight into stadium facilities and training from Keith Exton, Head Groundsman at Glamorgan County Cricket Club and Troy Smith of the Denver Broncos & The STMA (Sports Turf Managers Association of America)
