Performance Quality Standards

The Institute of Groundsmanship is the UK's leading organisation for the management and maintenance of turf facilities. It has members that manage the largest range of sports and amenity facilities, from ornamental lawns to athletics grounds, bowling greens, cricket grounds, football pitches, golf courses, hockey pitches, rugby pitches, tennis courts and more.

With businesses wishing to maintain customer satisfaction and achieve financial success and with local government emphasising providing value for money for their service delivery, currently through Best Value, the use of Performance Quality Standards can provide a positive contribution in achieving all of these aims.

Performance Quality Standards are an essential component of good management practice for outdoor facilities. They are also compatible with the wider context of quality systems, such as Total Quality Management and Best Value, as well as ISO standards.

The IOG Performance Quality Standards are available for Cricket, Football and Rugby pitches and are available to purchase from the IOG Shop as a manual or CD.  We also offer a one day course which provides an introduction to the implementation of PQS.  Visit the Training & Careers section of this site for details of course dates and venues.
