Re-alignment of IOG Regional and Branch structure

The IOG is organising a ‘get together’ for representatives of the Regions and Branches on 16 February in Milton Keynes.

This meeting will offer an opportunity for representatives to find out more about the proposed restructure and how the IOG can help to fund activities going forward.

The IOG Board recognises the importance of a thriving Regional and Branch network and how it is able to spread the IOG message and the benefits that grounds people can obtain from being an IOG member. During the meeting the IOG will also highlight the need for the recruitment of younger members to Branch and Region ranks to ensure that the legacy of those current volunteers is carried forward to future generations.

There are now eight Regions in England and one Committee for each of Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

The revised Regional structure, within England, is:

East Region

Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Essex, Suffolk

South East Region

Berks & Bucks, Oxfordshire, Hampshire, Surrey, Kent, Sussex

North & Yorkshire Region

Durham, North Riding, Northumberland, West Riding, East Riding

South West Region

London Region

East Midlands Region

These Regions are being re-aligned to mirror the sector representation at Board level, these are:

  • Professional Sport
  • Education

The meeting will be held in Milton Keynes on Thursday 16 February starting at 11am and will finish late afternoon.
