IOG members are invited to attend an educational day at the picturesque Goodwood to network with industry experts and top turf managers who will highlight the latest technical innovations and share their insights, best practices and strategies for turf care excellence.
The event, supported by the IOG and BIGGA, will take place between 8am and 3.30pm on Thursday 19 October and the ticket price includes lunch and refreshments.Tickets cost £10 and places are limited so book your place ASAP.
Adam Waterworth, managing director of the Goodwood sport division, will open the event, which includes an overview of the trials and tribulations of turf construction on the facility’s new airfield, by Phil Helmn, Goodwood’s general manager of sports turf, and an introduction to the Goodwood racecourse by the new clerk of the course Ed Arkell.
Head groundsmen Dougie Robertson from West Ham FC, Grant Cantin from AELTC, Wimbledon and Andy MacKay from Sussex County Cricket Club will then open discussions on the trends and challenges in groundsmanship, followed by expert advice from Countrywide Turf & Amenity's Russell Riley on plant biology, Agronomic Services' David Snowden on turf nutrition, Ian Barnett, from DLF seeds on seed genetics and Rob Jackson, from Toro/Reesink regarding irrigation.
