Sharks Snare New Sponsor
English rugby union Guinness Premiership champions the
Sale Sharks have secured a new sponsorship deal with QBE Insurance.
The new deal will see the QBE Insurance logo sported on the player’s
shorts for the rest of the 2006/07 season.
John Neal, managing director at QBE, said: “Rugby union in the UK
market is a very cost effective method for reaching senior business people.
This is particularly true when we looked at the profile of those that
were entertaining at Sale Sharks matches. A high proportion of these guests
are the decision makers within their respective businesses and our potential
customers. The Sharks sponsorship provides us with marketing collateral
as well as a platform of corporate hospitality upon which we can build
business relationships with these key decision makers.”
Sports fans in the southern hemisphere will know QBE Insurance through
their sponsorship of North Harbour who play in the New Zealand National
Provincial Championship as well as their sponsorship of Aussie Rules club
Sydney Swans
