Stowmarket youth facility plans submitted

The Mix, which is expected to cost £4.5m, is set to include a multi-media centre; an art studio; a café; an IT suite and a multi-purpose hall for dancing and sports.

Located opposite the Regal Cinema, the facility has been designed with the help of local young people and will be part-funded through the Department for Children, Schools and Families' myplace initiative.

SCC lead designer for the scheme Chris Game said: "The plan we have submitted is state of the art and acts as a magnet for young people whilst being respectful to its location in a conservation area."
