New tennis courts for Slough
8 new courts will be made with a £220,000 budget
Slough Borough Council (SBC) has announced that the 10 tennis courts at Salt Hill Park have closed in order to allow work to start on a £220,000 scheme to overhaul the facilities. Eight new state-of-the-art courts will be created as part of the work; four of which will be floodlit. A specialist tennis company will be appointed to manage the courts and clubhouse on behalf of the council.
SBC head of culture and sport Alison Hibbert said: "Once the courts are finished a specialist company will take over the management of them to improve and make more accessible, tennis coaching and development in Slough."
The work is being funded using a grant from the Lawn Tennis Association.
