Great Turf Company provides turf care for UK's first organic golf course
The Great Turf Company and New Malton Golf Club are to provide natural turf care to the UK's first ever organic golf course
The Cambridge-based golf club has been transformed by owner Paul Stevenson who took over the course in 2009.
The ethos of the club is different to that of traditional golf clubs and the management team aim to reduce chemical use and encourage wildlife through choosing a natural alternative to caring for their greens.
The playing areas have been treated using organic methods while the rough areas have been turned into meadowland in partnership with the RSPB.
The Great Turf Company has worked to create a range of natural treatments which are safe for both children and the surrounding wildlife.
The company’s managing director Andrew Turnbull said: "We have here a meeting of minds and outlook on the future of organic golf business.
"Paul is a real pioneer who has put his beliefs into action and we look forward to a long lasting partnership."
