Seed mix aims to improve micro-meadow areas
Hillier Nurseries has launched the Meadow Anywhere seed mix as part of its Natural Choice range in conjunction with Habitat Aid
The mix contains seeds of UK provenance, with one 10g pack (RRP: £4.99) covering 2.5sq m of garden space. For every pack sold, Hillier will donate 50p to Butterfly Conservation and 50p to the Bumblebee Conservation Trust.
Nick Mann of Habitat Aid, which promotes conservation charities and British plants, said: "The idea is to get people to understand more about meadows and it's intended to help people maintain their micro-meadow areas.
"The out-selling point is that it includes grasses in the mix and it's also very ethically sourced with grounded UK provenance."
Flower varieties in the mix include yarrow, cornflower, common knapweed, common poppy, yellow rattle, meadow buttercup and lady's bedstraw.
