Perennial and Royal Fund merge for family support
Perennial and the Royal Fund for Gardeners' Children (RFGC) have merged, meaning Perennial will now offer a streamlined service to support whole families
Children of horticulturists who are disadvantaged by their circumstances will continue to have access to financial help for educational and other costs with the additional support of Perennial's casework and debt advice team.
The RFGC was founded in 1886 and provides £50,000 of grants a year. Perennial chairman Sir Roger Singleton said: "The welfare and interests of the children have been at the heart of this decision
"The merger will ensure a seamless service for the greater benefit of both the children and adults within any family that we help."
Outgoing RFGC chairman Terry Read said: "This is the best decision we could have made for the children in our care now and in the future. These youngsters are often facing extreme, difficult circumstances. They need and deserve all the support we can give."
