Pele criticises Brazil 2014 preparations
Brazilian football's most famous son has cast doubt on the state of the country's preparations to host the FIFA World Cup in 2014, but insisted that 'all will run smoothly' by the time of the tournament.
Pele, a three-time World Cup winner, criticised the communication between the different bodies involved in organising the event
'I am now working directly with the president of Brazil who is doing her best to help out with the organisation,' he told ESPN Soccernet.
Pele's comments followed the resignation of Orlando Silva as Brazil's sports minsted amidst corruption allegations. A recent governemnt report found that seven of Brazil's 12 host cities have not begun vital infrastructure work with the tournament less than three years away.
