Gloucestershire limit planning application

Gloucestershire's original plan, which included building new stands adjacent to Kennington Avenue, has been reduced

Gloucestershire have decided to implement only one part of the planning application to expand their Bristol home.

For the foreseeable future the county will not build stands adjacent to Kennington Avenue - resulting result in a capacity of around 17,500, rather than the 20,000 originally envisaged, of which around 7,500 will be permanent.

They have also reached an agreement with Linden Homes, which will see the proposed student accommodation being replaced by a range of one and two-bedroom apartments as there is no longer the demand for the former.

These revised plans will the subject of a public exhibition on February 11 from 3pm to 7.30pm and February 12 from 10am to 2pm in the Grace Room at the County Ground.

Gloucestershire chief executive Tom Richardson said: “This is a great opportunity to proceed with our much-needed ground development plans.”
